This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Alberta Emergency Management Agency on behalf of Mackenzie County has updated the Natural Gas Supply Alert. This alert is in effect for: Mackenzie #23. The persistent cold weather continues to disrupt natural gas supply in Mackenzie County. Areas south of La Crete continue to experience natural gas supply outages. The problem is expected to persist until gas pressures reach normal levels, which will likely be several days after temperatures rise. Natural gas supply trucks are being brought in to try and maintain gas line pressure. If you are in the affected area: Reception centre established at La Crete Mennonite Heritage Centre. Affected residents encouraged to stay with friends and family who have alternative heat sources. This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Municipal District of Ranchland No. 66 has updated the Wildfire Alert. This alert is in effect for: Ranchland #66. A serious wildfire continues to affect the Chimney Rock Road area of the MD of Ranchland. Heavy smoke remains in the area and is affecting visibility and creating hazardous road conditions. Fire resources are actively working on or near Highway 22 and Chimney Rock Road. As of 10:00 a.m. today Highway 22 is open. Chimney Rock Road remains closed. If you are in the affected area: There remains a mandatory evacuation order for residents on all of Chimney Rock Road and south to Highway 520 on the west side of Highway 22. This is an evacuation alert for residents north of Chimney Rock Road to Highway 533 on the west side of Highway 22. Residents evacuating please call the MD office 403-646-3131. This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Municipality of Crowsnest Pass has updated the Wildfire Alert. This alert is in effect for: Crowsnest Pass. UPDATE 5 - The Wildfire still burns out of control west of Coleman, but the situation has slightly improved and everyone living on Willow Drive can return to their residences, as the evacuation order for this area is now lifted. The evacuation orders for McLaren Ridge, Carbondale Trailer Court, and MacGillivary Flats remain in place and no one should be in these areas. If you are in the affected area: McLaren Ridge, Carbondale Trailer Court, and MacGillivary Flats are under an evacuation order and no one should be in these areas. Willow Drive residents can return home but must attend the Municipal Office in Coleman prior to going home. Highway 3 is open but caution must be used while driving west of Coleman. This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Municipality of Crowsnest Pass has updated the Wildfire Alert. This alert is in effect for: Crowsnest Pass. UPDATE 4 - Highway 3 west of Coleman has been opened to all traffic, but caution needs to be used when driving in the area, due to the Wildfire west of Coleman burning out of control. The evacuations in the Coleman area remain in effect, and everyone else in Coleman should be prepared to evacuate on short notice. If you are in the affected area: Highway 3 is now open but caution must be used while driving in the area. Willow Drive, McLaren Ridge, Carbondale Trailer Court, and MacGillivary Flats are under an evacuation order, and everyone else in Coleman should be prepared to evacuate on short notice.
